Are these women real?

Yes! They are everyday women who really do work in amazing STEM careers. Their jobs are real, too!

Are these books just for girls?

Nope! Boys love The Look Up Series, too, and it's great for all kids to see that women hold space in Science, Math, Technology, and Engineering. 

What age group are these books for?

Ages 8 to 12, which is 3rd grade through 6th grade. The Lexile Score ranges from 730 to 870. Book one in the series, AMANDA, TOY ENGINEER, is the easiest to read, and the reading level increase from there. You can find the Lexile score for each book on the product pages for each title. That said, we've had college-aged students find these books fascinating, too, so they're really for anyone who's looking for a STEM career book.

Will there be more books in the series?

We've heard your requests for aerospace representation, marine biologist, and more! New titles are always in the works. Stay tuned! In the meantime, help support this growing series by sharing it with a friend.

Can anyone from The Look Up Series visit my school?

The author of the series, Aubre Andrus, does virtual and in-person visits for schools, libraries, book clubs, and scouting troops. (Learn more on our school visit page). For larger events (and with enough notice) she may be able to drum up a volunteer or two from the series! 

Can I get a discount on bulk orders?

I'm a librarian. Can you tell me more about this book?

It's a nonfiction biography series featuring STEM careers and diverse women on the covers. It's designed for ages 8 to 12 (3rd through 6th grade) with a Lexile score ranging from 730 to 870. Readers who like the Who Is? series, The Questioneers series (Ada Twist, Scientist), Rebel Girls, and the American Girl advice and activity books will enjoy The Look Up Series.

Is a hardcover edition available?

Can we buy books in person?

The Look Up Series is often at the LA Times Festival of Books in the spring, the American Library Association Conference in the summer, and at the Orange County Children's Book Festival in the fall. Hope to see you there!
